Imaam buddy

"It’s a good idea to find an Imaan Buddy, so when the Imaan battery needs to be charged again, there is someone who will give their help and support like a friend, sibling or spouse. It’s very helpful, because when times get stressful and frustrating there is someone who can not only offer their support on the issues which are causing stress but also give reminders that it’s a must to pray and not to forget Allah."

How is it possible

"How is it possible for one’s heart to be certain that one is going to meet Allah, that Allah sees and hears all that he does, and knows his secret open affairs, and that he will be made to stand before Allah, answerable for all his deeds - how can one be certain and aware of all of this, and yet persist upon things which displease Allah; persist upon abandoning Allah’s orders, neglecting His rights, and yet claim that he has good expectation of Allah?"

The promises of Allah

  • Me: Will I be protected by Allah?
  • Allah: Truly, Allah defends those who believe.[22:38]
  • Me: Will anyone ever overcome me?
  • Allah: And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers. [4:141]
  • Me: Will Allah forgive me for the bad I have done?
  • Allah: Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them there is forgiveness and great reward. [5:9]
  • Me: Will I have peace and security?
  • Allah: They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided. [6:82]
  • Me: Will my ending be good?
  • Allah: For those who believe and work righteousness, is (every) blessedness, and a beautiful place of (final) return. [13:29]
  • Me: Will I be protected against the devil?
  • Allah: No authority has he (i.e. Shaitaan) over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. [16:99]
  • Me: Will people love me as a Muslim?
  • Allah: Verily, those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Gracious will bestow love for them.[19:96]
  • Me: Will Allah be my friend?
  • Allah: And Allah is the Wali (Protector and Helper) of the believers. [3:68]
  • Me: Will Allah be with me?
  • Allah: For verily Allah is with those who believe! [8:19]
  • Me: Will I have a good life?
  • Allah: Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do. [16:97]

Worth many thousands of words..

An Israeli soldier tries to arrest a Palestinian boy at gun point in Jerusalem and a female activist intervenes, body checking the armed soldier, giving the boy a chance to run away. Now THAT’s what I call solidarity!! :)

give thanks to Allah

How often do we give thanks to Allah for the blessings which we have? Our daily lives may be busy and we many not even have time for our own selves, but make time for Allah and contemplate how blessed you are. Even with every trial or test that we experience, it helps to bring us one step closer to a more complete faith as it tests our patience and gratitude. Will we give up our faith because of one incident? Will you question Allah’s authority because something did not turn out the way you wanted it to? If we focus more on what we have, rather on what ‘we think’ we do not have, our faith would be sky high and we would not feel depressed. We must give thanks to Allah for the blessings that we have in our lives, inshaAllah.
