How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life

Bismillahir Rehmanir Raheem

Assalamo alykum wa Rehmatullahe wa Barakaatuh

How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life

Do you want to improve your life? Do you want to be a happier person? Do you want the satisfaction of knowing the future is going to be better than the past?

Of course you do. We all want better lives. And the great thing is, we Muslims have a “secret” weapon to get this improved life. You know what I’m going to say.

It’s dua. Yes, our duas (supplication) can impact our lives immediately. Why? Because it’s direct communication with our Lord, Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So if you’re not happy with the way things are going in your life, I encourage you to turn to dua.

However, simply begging Allah to “give me this” and “give me that” may seem futile if not done correctly. Therefore, I’d like to list a few tidbits and ideas that will improve the way you make dua, and bring you closer to Allah.

Your Intention Must Be Good

While this may seem obvious, it may be worth noting that for our duas to be accepted, we should have good intentions. In other words, we shouldn’t make dua against someone else simply because they wronged us or have upset us.

We especially should be careful about making dua against our family members. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said in an authentic hadith that Allah answers our prayers so long as we do not seek to break family ties.

Sometimes our family angers us and make us want to do and say evil things. When these things happen, it is important that we have patience and not ask Allah to curse them or bring some punishment upon them. Perhaps if we are merciful and forgiving to our family, Allah may be merciful and forgiving to us.

We should also refrain from asking Allah for forbidden things. We should not make dua for alcohol, or pork, or illegal sexual intercourse. Once again, all of this may seem obvious, but I believe it’s important enough to mention anyway.

Follow the Prophet’s Advice

Assuming that you’re asking for something good and halal (allowed in Islam), the next thing to keep in mind is to make dua the way the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us how to make dua.

Please read this beautiful Hadith (tradition) from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

The supplication of every one of His slaves will be granted so long as he does not get impatient and says “I supplicated my Lord again and again but I do not think my prayers will be answered.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

With this in mind, here is a short list of things you should make sure are in place when making dua:

Praise Allah – Whatever it is you want in life, you must still be thankful and grateful for what Allah has already given you. Allah rewards gratitude and punishes ingratitude. So before you before you begin asking Allah for a bunch of things, make sure you begin by thanking and praising Him.

Send Peace and Blessing upon the Messenger of Allah – After praising Allah, the next you should do is ask Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet was the best of creation. So ask Allah to bless him and earn a little rewards before asking for things for yourself.

Supplicate with emotion – Your duas shouldn’t be dry, formulaic, robotic acts of worship. Instead, ask Allah for what you want with determination, desire, and devotion. Pray to Allah with the earnestness He deserves. It’s even better if you can cry while making dua. And if you cannot cry, then make yourself cry.

Have patience – One thing that makes our duas get rejected by Allah is losing patience. A person may ask Allah for something, and they don’t get it in the timeframe they want. So they get impatient and say things like: “I made dua for this, and Allah did not give it to me.” This impatience makes us lose all the blessing of our dua.

Be specific – Don’t say things like “Oh Allah, you know what I want, please give it to me.” Allah IS all hearing and all knowing, but we should articulate the specific things we want Him to give us. Ask for it directly and don’t say things like “If You will” when speaking to Allah. He will do what He wills anyway. So speak with conviction and the expectation that Allah will answer you.

Some Final Tips

There are many little things we can do to make our duas more impactful. Here are some brief pointers to keep in mind:

Pray for your parents when you make dua.

Pray for another Muslim in their absence without them knowing.

Make wudu before making dua.

Make dua when it’s raining.

Make dua in the last moments of daylight on Fridays.

Use authentic duas from the Quran and sunnah in Arabic (though it’s perfectly okay to make dua in your native tongue also).

Call upon Allah using the word “Rabbee (My Lord).”

Call upon Allah by His names (Ar-Rahman, Al-Ghafur, etc.)

Malaysia flight MH370: Pitbull song lyrics bear uncanny resemblance to missing plane mystery, according to YouTubers

Lyrics include 'Two passports, three cities, two countries, one day'

Ask YouTube commenters for the explanation behind Malaysia Airlines flight MH370's disappearance (actually don't, that's a terrible idea) and they'll tell you it can be traced back to Pitbull and Shakira's 2012 track "Get It Started".

The 'Illuminati' briefly got a break from being in the frame for the world's mysteries, with people drawing comparisons between the club banger's lyrics and details of the plane's tragic disappearance.

Pitbull's lines include 'Now it's off to Malaysia' and 'Two passports, three cities, two countries, one day'.

Conspiracy theorists have it that the two passports relate to the stolen Austrian Italian passports used by two Iranians to board MH370, the three cities refer to the capital cities of Malaysia, China and Vietnam and the two countries are Malaysia and Vietnam.

The lyrics 'No Ali, No Frasier, but for now off to Malaysia' meanwhile were linked to the 'Mr Ali' tabloid press have been referring to for one of the two Iranian passengers, despite Malaysian authories having confirmed the 19-year-old is actually called Pouria Nourmohammadi.

"This song is related to the mh370 incident.. OMG!!!" one mind-blown commenter wrote.

Humanitarian missions

Humanitarian missions are becoming increasingly popular, with more people willing to give hands-on aid in developing countries.

However, while most candidates might be
physically and financially ready, few are actually fully prepared to take on a humanitarian mission.                   Generosity is not enough: you must be able to justify your professional skills and the personal qualities required to satisfy the agencies that you are fully qualified to carry out the mission.                              Whether you want to help people rebuild their lives after disasters, provide medical assistance or work on education programs, here are some tips on how to prepare for such a mission.

  1. Think about which of your skills are suited to humanitarian work. Much needed abilities include managerial skills, accounting, human resources and languages.

  2. Decide where you want to help out. Where would your skills be best placed? Keep updated on international crises. Although Some organisations that operate humanitarian missions won't let you choose, you could pick an agency which works in a specific area.

  3. Don't rule out other international agencies if you can't find the type of mission you're looking for.
  4. If you haven't already, get some experience helping people in need locally. Not only will this look good in your application, but it will definitely help you when it comes to the real thing.

  5. Get training in international relief and development. It might also be an idea to takea  course in health, safety and security.

SHOULD I HAVE A BABY?

"We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of "starting a family." "We're taking a survey," she says half-joking. "Do you think I should have a baby?"

"It will change your life," I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral.

"I know," she says, "no more sleep...ing in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations."

But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes.

I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable.

I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking, "What if that had been MY child?" That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her.

That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die.

I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. That an urgent call of "Mom!" will cause her to drop a soufflé or her best crystal without a moments hesitation.

I feel that I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for childcare, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her
baby's sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right.

I want my daughter to know that every day decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy's desire to go to the men's room rather than the women's at McDonald's will become a major dilemma. That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming
children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that restroom.

However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother.

Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself.

That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. That she would give herself up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years, not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs.

I want her to know that a cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor.

My daughter's relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks.

I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child.

I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic.

I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving.

I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike.

I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or cat for the first time.

I want her to taste the joy that is so real it actually hurts.

My daughter's quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes. "You'll never regret it," I finally say. Then I reached across the table, squeezed my daughter's hand and offered a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings.

Please share this with a Mom that you know or all of your girlfriends who may someday be Moms. May you always have in your arms the one who is in your heart."

Last day

Suppose you learn tonight that tomorrow is your ‘LAST DAY’
in other words, after tomorrow you will ‘DIE’

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
WHAT WOULD YOU EAT?
WHAT WOULD YOU DRINK?

WHO WOULD YOU SEE?
WHO WOULD YOU TALK TO?

WHAT WOULD YOUR THOUGHTS BE?
WHAT WOULD YOUR ‘ACTIONS’ BE ON THE LAST DAY ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH????

You would NOT dare to go against Allah’s Legislations. Not EVEN for one second of that day. Because its your ‘LAST DAY’

The ‘DEATH’ is a most ‘CERTAIN’ aspect of life.

According to statistics, 6200 people die in the world ‘EVERY SINGLE HOUR’
Yet it is amazing that we believe that ‘ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN TO US’

Atleast not soon!
And wallahi, brothers and sisters, this is the work of Satan.
This is the work of the Devil.
He wants you to be FORGETFUL.
He wants you to be HATEFUL.

WHY????

So that you don’t prepare your self for that mighty day.

THIS IS OUR SITUATION EVERY DAY, EVERY NIGHT.

WE DO NOT PREPARE OUR SELVES FOR DEATH!
Reminder 1st to me, and then to all, its not yet late. Let's promise to be the best Among Allah (Subhnahu Wa Ta'ala ) Slaves.. May Allah bless us with Guidance. Ameen..

GIVE MEANING TO YOUR SALAH….

But why do you really pray? Do you pray because you need something? Do you pray because you want something? Do you pray because you are just told so? Come, think of it, and ask yourself, why do you pray?

Many thoughts are coming now to your mind, right?
Yes, we have all our own reasons why we pray to Allaah, but before anything else, let it be known that you pray because it is not because you are told so but because you are obliged to do so, it is the first pillar of Islam.Realize that Allah never gets tired of Providing and Sustaining for your needs, He forgives you as long as you repent yet when He calls you to pray and have a talk with Him, you refuse?
Salah is a gift and a mercy from Allah. It is the best form of giving thanks to Allah, best way to have a talk with him and pour everything that is in your heart without being ashamed because you know Allaah can be the only One who can bring such comfort in your heart, you know that when you pour out your feelings to Him, He comforts it by letting your tears fall from your eyes which in return gives such relief in you, have you ever notice that?
Yes, when we cry, we release all out the stress, hatred and pain away from our hearts, that is a mercy from Allah, so when you cry it doesn’t mean you are weak, it just means that you are being comforted by Allah, there is nothing wrong on crying. It is a gift, so embrace it.

When you pray, concentrate, do not be fast on uttering the words of the Qur’an, feel every word, there is nothing wrong if you take long in salaah, it is a moment gifted to you by Allah , so make it count.
When you pray, Stay focused, remember sooner or later, death may come upon you, so pray as if it is your last, cry, because with all the sins we have committed, we should cry, cry out for forgiveness from Him, for every minute that we have displeased Him, He tells us…

Muhammad sallallahu allaihi wassalaam said in a Hadith Qudsi that Allaah said:"O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its.”

Subhan’Allaah, how can a heart full of sins cannot call out for forgiveness to the One Who says I will forgive you?Every time, every time and i mean every single time we pray our Salaah, make it the most meaningful one. Make it so meaningful that your du’a would make the angels say Amin with you. When you got lost, He didn’t put you astray more, rather He called you back, wallahi He gave you that honor back, so why are you putting this honor away by not praying?

We are bound to return to our Lord soon, either I go first or you go, all of us will. So make everyday count, you are given 5 gifts everyday, open it, fill it, embrace it and make use of it. Remember, not all the people in this world is given this honor of having a talk with Him 5 times a day, We are blessed for we are Muslims and Allaah Azza Wa Jall honored us that. Now, are you up for another talk with ALLAH?

Yes, start with the next Salaah, give meaning to it.

Watch out what your children are watching on TV…BE CAREFUL…!!!

The child: Dad, can I ask you a favor? But promise you will listen to me and understand me. Promise you will listen until I finish ok?

The father: Ok I promise, go ahead. What is it?

The child: I want you to take me out to see some things. We'll only have a look that's all.

I want you to take me to my uncle's house to look at his beautiful daughter.

Then I want you to take me to the big hotel at the end of the road to look at some girls in the swimming pool with their bikinis.

After that, I want us to go to our neighbor’s house, the one who got married recently. And I want to watch him whilst he kisses his wife and plays with her.

And At night, I want us to go to some night club, to see some girls dancing and men and women around them drinking alcohol and smoking. And whilst we're there, I want us to go see how people gamble with money, I want to learn how they do it.

The father: Are you mad? Did you lose your mind? Aren’t you ashamed to...

The child: Hang on dad, I was only joking with you..

But dad, I want to let you know that all of what I asked to see, I already saw it, and you are the one who showed it to me. I didn't even ask you to show me. And I don't even have to go anywhere to see those things...

It's right there in that corner..on the TV..We watch those things every day, me, you, mum and my brothers and sisters...didn't you notice?

All of you are shepherds, and each one is responsible for his flock. A leader of people is a shepherd and responsible for them. A man is like a shepherd over his family, and he is responsible for his flock. A woman is like a shepherd over her husband’s house and children, and she is responsible for them. And a slave is a guardian of his master’s property and is responsible for it. So all of you are guardians and are responsible for your charges.”(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

May Allah save all of us Ameen..uk
