What
is dunya? Dunya is illusory nature of the word, its the aspect that
deludes you, thinking that you are permanent, thinking that you can
transgress, thinking that you are independent from Allah. 'This is' the
Dunya! This is why the wife is not considered dunya, or the husband for
the wife not considered as dunya.
The food in order to keep you body healthy is not considered dunya, earning money to spend on halal and your responsibilities is not dunya. Non of those things by islamic understanding are considered as dunya. So what is dunya?
Dunya is that illusory element of the world, it's the element that takes us away from the akhira, and this is Satan's game, Satan's game is to take people away from the akhira, shaytan mean to 'obstruct', make distance. Dunya is near, he makes us feel that dunya is near, he makes us feel that dunya is clolse and not akhira. Islam tell us Dunya is distant, one of the root meanings of dunya is to reach out for grapes that you can never grasp, because this is the nature of dunya, you will never be able to get it, it will always evade you.
Prophet(SAW) said in a sahih hadith, if the son of Adam had one mountain of gold, he would only want a second one. Ibne Adams mouth will never be filled, except with the dust of his own grave. Don't let the deluder delude you! Don't think that the dunya is important! The message of Islam is that the akhira is important. We are heading away from dunya and towards the akhira.
What you going to say when your are in akhira, " O' Allah please let me go back to dunya, and i will get rid of it, then i will not keep dunya in my pocket, i will be from the people of righteousness, but then Allah Will not delay it.
This is what the satan wants people to believe, this is what dunya wants people to believe. When you go to paces like malls in america, it tell you there is 'NO' time.
If you go to the disney land in the United states, it says, "You leave today, and enter the world of yesterday and tomorrow" What is that? That's delusion! People live in the past and the future! we muslim should live in the present!
We remember 'NOW', not the past, zikr is not the past, it's remembering Allah, and Allah is reality, Allah has no past/ no future, Allah is reality! This is what the we muslims remember, we remember the presence of Allah, This is what we muslims do, we remember Allah(SWT), his presence!
